While popularly known for challenging standards and pushing boundaries, the entrepreneurial mindset today has changed as something that everyone should possess, regardless of the vocation an individual pursues. The employer has a vision, tenacity, a hunger, and a preferred attitude that drives results, and these are characteristics that all employees should have. The slight nuance here is that in a company, the vision has already been established, but even then, employees will have the ability to contribute and shape that vision, adapting it to the changing landscape of the industry.
An entrepreneurial mindset also inspires qualities that from Property Finder we promote within our staff, which include the ability to predict and navigate obstacles, work with minimal supervision, inspire confidence and have a focus on results. Our overall aspiration at Property Finder is to become a beacon technology company. To achieve this goal, we strive to become a magnet for talent in the region, which will allow us to attract the right talent that underpins our success. In the context of this aspiration, assume that our ultimate goal is a masterpiece of art: there is a canvas we need to paint and we are constantly looking for high-level talent to come and paint alongside us; specifically, good talent will play a significant role in playing with immense impact.
We are very lucky to be located in the United Arab Emirates, where professionals are immersed in the rich culture of the region that instills strong attributes such as loyalty and pride in the work they do, as well as having a collegial nature. laboratory that instinctively forces them to think about the growth of their colleagues, as well as their own. They are difficult qualities to achieve and are therefore a great foundation. The younger generation is extremely inspiring and our role as mentors and leaders is to understand and accept that they prefer to live by the rules defined by them (rather than predefined rules and notions), foster their ambition and ways of working, and only push them gently (guide them) only if required. We must believe in this generation and get out of its way.
The only challenge I would say when dealing with young people is that sometimes their confidence and direct approach can be misinterpreted as irreverence, which is counterproductive to healthy dynamics, but other than that, I’m betting for this generation. it continues to amaze me daily. From an organizational perspective, a company must employ various measures to create an enabling environment that allows its team to spread its wings and rise to new heights. For starters, we need to understand that people have to get the best out of themselves to work, which starts by making sure the environment provided motivates people to want to come to work every day. After realizing that this starts with the architecture and aesthetics of the office space, the Property Finder senior team took it seriously; in fact, it is what led us to receive an award for the best corporate office interiors, which we are very proud of.

It is also important to recognize the importance of professional growth, especially for the younger generation. We take a 70:20:10 approach, a conventional learning methodology that indicates that people grow older when 70% are learned at work, 20% are learned through focused training, and 10% are learn through training. In our case, given the vital stage of our organization and talent strategy, we look for talent that has a high potential with the ability to grow to occupy, covering 70%. For 20% focused training, we have invested in a learning platform that provides unlimited access to the entire team to learn and hone the set of skills needed for their specific role, or even additional courses. which arouse their interest. And finally, to cover the coaching aspect, we (as more established companies) instill a culture of continuous feedback and mentoring as part of our performance cycles.
In addition, more than a decade after its inception, Property Finder has still maintained its home culture and moved away from the transition to a hierarchical organization, as most companies usually do. Minor practices and processes that belong to the home culture help significantly increase employee morale and attitude. It’s a domino effect: an open-door policy across the top management not only allows employees to openly express their concerns and opinions, but also leads to fresh, innovative ideas from all levels of the team. Something as simple as our Thank God Its Thursday (TGIT) meetings, where the entire management team is available to respond to any queries, and regular “on-hand” meetings help drive transparency and trust within a business.
Finally, I would like to leave you with a quote from Lao Tzu, my favorite leadership teacher, who has stayed with me over the years: “A leader is someone that people barely know exists; when they finish their work, their goal is fulfilled, they will say: we have done it ourselves ”. Rather than guidance, a manager or mentor has an obligation to lead by example, as a team is an imitation of its leader. They are immensely important in shaping the work ethic and attitude of their teams, and they must demonstrate vital attitudes such as a solid work ethic, be available to their teams, work through streamlining traffic neighborhoods. and be vocal about praise. It is crucial that a leader understands his team and adapts his leadership style, no matter how necessary, to motivate and get the best out of his team.
Finally, my suggestion to the younger generation that they want to thrive on successful leaders would be, first, to get the basics right: it’s important to be extremely competent in what you do; practice, practice, and finally hone your skills. Once you’ve done that, learn to think ahead and set the agenda for a plan to help you achieve your goals. And finally, shape your personality to learn the tricks of collaboration, humility, influence, and perseverance. Be a person of the village and guide from the heart.
